What You’ll Do:

As Vice President, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting you will be a key member of our Finance & Accounting team who will lead the external financial reporting and technical accounting function at EQRx. You’ll lead and supervise the Company’s SEC reporting function, owning the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Form’s 10-K and 10-Qs.

You will have high visibility within the organization, become a trusted partner, and collaborate cross-functionally across EQRx on all technical accounting and SEC reporting matters. You’ll advise on technical accounting considerations, manage the documentation, review, and communication of conclusions on the appropriate accounting for complex transactions and contracts and adoption of new accounting standards, as well as manage the preparation, review and filing of Securities and Exchange (SEC) filings. You will be responsible for leading, reviewing and ensuring that EQRx is in compliance with all financial policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and SEC related reporting requirements.

You will play a critical role in assessing and assisting with key business and strategic activities, initiatives and transactions while advising on the appropriate accounting treatment. Your role will be an essential part of the day-to-day and long-term operations of the business, ensuring that we remain poised to achieve our mission of Remaking Medicine. You’ll lead a team and ensure direct involvement in projects with tight deadlines.

Your Professional Superpowers:

• You have a bachelor's or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• You are CPA licensed.
• You have 15+ years of accounting experience.
• You have a significant number of years of technical accounting and SEC reporting experience.
• You have experience in and working knowledge of GAAP, SEC Regulations and SOX, including Big 4 public accounting experience.
• You have experience leading, coaching and mentoring individuals.
• You have experience completing GAAP checklists and ensuring financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP guidelines.
• You have XBRL tagging experience.
• You have experience managing the preparation, review and filing of 10-Q and 10-K filings, proxy statements, registration statements, etc.
• You are experienced with international consolidation and multi-currency entities.
• You have experience working at or with commercialize biotech/pharma companies.
• You are comfortable working independently.
• You have strong financial management, analytical and reasoning abilities.
• You are an excellent communicator and proficient in technical accounting writing.
• You are a highly organized, results driven, problem solver.
• You can prioritize and manage concurrent demands.
• You can participate and work effectively on multiple cross-functional teams.
• You understand relationships are key with internal and external stakeholders and have strong interpersonal skills.
• Teams love working with you, and you are someone who takes pride in mentoring and supporting the careers of others.
