The Senior Director / VP, Alliance Management will serve in a key strategic role for EQRx as the central point of contact for internal coordination and external interface with our partner companies. You will lead the Alliance Management function, and be responsible for the design and implementation of strategic initiatives to further establish an alliance management capability that enables us to achieve our growth plans and enhance our reputation as a premier alliance “partner of choice”, while also ensuring that the best interests of EQRx are upheld. You will develop and maintain key relationships across a broad sphere of influence, both internally and externally, to achieve alliance objectives, and will be responsible for activities related to alliance processes and for proactively and strategically managing both established and new alliance relationships. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that alliance strategy and operations are aligned with our overall corporate strategy as partnered assets and partnerships evolve and develop over time.
This role will serve as EQRx’s “internal expert” on partner companies, support new alliances and ensure a smooth transition and implementation post contract signature by leading the alliance launch process. You will act as a key driver of the goals of the collaboration and manage the long-term relationships between EQRx and our partners by acting as the key interface with respect to the management of the legal and contractual framework established for the alliances.You will proactively identify and mitigate issues at the appropriate level of partnership management and ensure proper governance of the alliance by organizing and coordinating joint steering committees. You will work with partner companies to set direction and scope for implementation of the partnership agreement including key activities, timelines, and responsibilities on either side. You will oversee the meeting agendas and ensure that the EQRx team is fully prepared with all deliverables for partner interaction.
This is not your standard alliances leadership position. This position is highly visible and of significant impact to the company. We are on a critical mission to bring quality solutions to patients at a fraction of the price. This role will help us drive forward towards that pinnacle goal of truly putting patients first.
You have an advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MS, MBA, MD) in a discipline related to drug development or business; a Certified Strategic Alliance Professional is a plus.
You have significant experience (10 – 15 years) in the pharmaceutical, life sciences (or a related industry), preferably in pipeline development, business development, commercial launch preparation or a project leader role.
You have extensive executive level experience in management-level positions in Alliance Management, Program Management, Business Development, or related function.
You have experience implementing strategic initiatives to create organizational alignment and/or establish new capabilities.
You have led cross-functional teams, including senior management members, to accomplish shared goals.
You have experience working with long-term partnerships.
You can identify, prioritize, and resolve key project and partnership issues.
You have a keen attention to detail, excellence in project management and effectiveness in managing multiple projects/priorities.
You have advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
You have a sharp business acumen with ability to conceptualize the big picture while focusing on the details.
You can participate and work effectively on multiple cross-functional teams
You understand relationships are key and have strong interpersonal skills.
