What You’ll Do:

As the Accounting Manager, reporting to the Associate Director, Accounting, you will own key reconciliations and accruals as part of the month/quarter/year-end closes and maintain and update accounting policies. You’ll communicate with business partners and cross-functional groups on accounting and finance matters and perform analysis on financial information including budget vs actual.

You’ll report results and analysis to decision makers. To support EQRx’s expansion, this role will help set and define processes for exciting, new initiatives and collaborations, serving as the primary internal and external accounting contact. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, evidenced by driving continuous improvement of processes.

You will contribute directly to the company’s critical accounting processes while interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. We are on a critical mission to bring quality solutions to patients, and you will play a key role in ensuring that we remain poised to achieve our mission of Remaking Medicine.

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor’s in Accounting. CPA and MBA/MSA a plus.
  • You have 5+ years of relevant Accounting or Finance experience, with a mix of private and public accounting experience, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry a plus.
  • You have a proven ability to set new accounting processes while staying compliant with US GAAP.
  • You have a strong understanding of accrual accounting (R&D and G&A) and its impact on the financial statements. You are comfortable navigating within an ERP and maintaining audit-level supporting workpapers.
  • You are a highly organized, detail oriented, results-driven problem solver.
  • You are proactive, taking the initiative to identify and drive improvements.
  • You have a strong mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You understand relationships are key and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You can work effectively on multiple cross-functional teams.
  • You are a leader. Teams love working with you, and you are someone who takes pride in mentoring and supporting the careers of others.
  • You can thrive in an early stage company environment and love the pace of a fast-growing company.
  • You’re a team player who is willing to roll-up your sleeves and get the job done.
